Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy

Blonde Limited Last updated: May 2026

Blonde Limited is committed to creating an inclusive and equitable working environment — one in which everyone we employ, engage, or work alongside is treated with dignity, fairness and respect.

We believe that diverse teams make better creative work. Different perspectives, lived experiences, and ways of seeing the world enrich every brief we take on. Equality, diversity and inclusion aren’t separate principles for us — they’re foundational to how we make work that connects with real audiences.

Our commitment

We are committed to:

  • Treating every individual fairly, regardless of background, identity or circumstance
  • Providing equal access to opportunity across recruitment, freelance engagement, training, progression and pay
  • Building creative work that reflects the diversity of the audiences it speaks to
  • Promoting an inclusive culture in our studio, on our shoots, and in every project we deliver
  • Complying with all relevant UK equality legislation, including the Equality Act 2010
  • Continuously reviewing and improving our practices in line with industry best practice

Protected characteristics

In line with the Equality Act 2010, we are committed to ensuring no individual is treated less favourably on the grounds of:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender reassignment
  • Marriage and civil partnership
  • Pregnancy and maternity
  • Race (including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin)
  • Religion or belief
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation

We also recognise that intersectionality matters — that people experience identity through multiple overlapping characteristics, and that inclusion must take that into account.

Our approach

1. Recruitment and engagement

  • We assess all candidates — whether for permanent roles, freelance work, or production crew — on the basis of relevant skills, experience and creative fit
  • We work to broaden the pool of talent we engage with, and to give opportunities to people from backgrounds historically underrepresented in the creative industries
  • We are committed to fair and transparent pay, and to providing equal pay for equivalent work
  • Job descriptions and freelance briefs are written to be inclusive in language and scope

2. In the studio and on set

  • We expect everyone working with Blonde — whether permanent, freelance, or contracted — to behave with dignity, respect and professionalism
  • We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, bullying or victimisation, on or off set, in person or online
  • Concerns can be raised confidentially with the founders, and will be taken seriously and investigated fairly

3. In the work we make

  • We work to reflect the diversity of real audiences in the casting, voices and stories featured in our productions
  • We approach sensitive subjects — including disability, mental health, race, sexuality, gender and chronic illness — with care, consultation, and the involvement of people with lived experience
  • We engage authenticity advisers, community partners, and lived-experience contributors when working on briefs that require specific cultural, medical or social sensitivity
  • We are mindful of the language, imagery and framing we use, and the assumptions that can be embedded in creative decisions

4. Suppliers and partners

  • We seek to work with suppliers, freelancers and partners who share our values around inclusion and fair treatment
  • We are open to working with diverse-owned businesses, and welcome opportunities to expand our network in this regard

Accessibility

We are committed to making our work, our studio and our communications as accessible as possible. This includes:

  • Producing accessible content where required, including subtitled, audio-described or BSL-interpreted versions of our films
  • Considering accessibility requirements at the planning stage of every production
  • Making reasonable adjustments to working arrangements for individuals with disabilities, in line with the Equality Act 2010

Industry alignment

We are informed by initiatives that support inclusive practice within the creative industries, including:

  • The Advertising Association’s Inclusion Action Group
  • Creative Equals
  • BFI Diversity Standards
  • The IPA’s All In Census
  • Bectu’s Eyes Half Shut report and recommendations

Where appropriate, we adopt practical measures from these frameworks to inform our own approach to inclusive working.

Continuous improvement

We recognise that building a more inclusive industry is an ongoing process. Blonde Limited is committed to:

  • Periodically reviewing our approach to equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Listening to the people we work with — staff, freelancers, contributors, and clients — and acting on what we hear
  • Remaining informed about best practice within the creative and production industries
  • Taking proportionate steps to strengthen our approach over time

Responsibility

Responsibility for implementing this policy sits with the company directors.

All employees, freelancers and collaborators are expected to support these commitments and contribute to an inclusive and respectful working environment.

Raising concerns

Anyone who experiences or witnesses discrimination, harassment or unfair treatment while working with Blonde is encouraged to raise the matter directly with the founders. All concerns are treated confidentially, taken seriously, and investigated fairly.

Concerns can be raised in confidence with:
