hATTR Amyloidosis – Sophia’s Story

Film production for Alnylam

A Voice for Change

Following on from our involvement in the award winning One Step Further campaign, for Alnylam – which helped raise awareness around the need for better support for people living with ATTR amyloidosis – we were asked to help produce another film telling a deeply personal story. An interview with Sophia, who shares her experience with the hereditary type of ATTR (hATTR).

Encouraged by her husband, she pursued genetic testing, which revealed both she and her sister carried the condition.Despite previous referrals, Sophia had avoided pursuing answers, not wanting to burden the healthcare system. But once armed with the test results, she found the courage to advocate for herself and push for proper medical attention.

Now, driven by gratitude and a desire to help others, she’s determined to be more than a patient—she wants to be an ambassador, advocating for others, urging them to trust their instincts, speak up, seek help, and believe in the power of early diagnosis.

This film is her way of giving something back.
